Friend Friday: Steve's amazing smoked BBQ beans

It's Friend Friday, and I get to show off my man's amazing BBQ smoking skills!  He loves smoking meats and baked beans, and I love all the yummy BBQ we get to eat!

Preparing the beans:

Off to the smoker,
a Weber grill he converted
into a smoker:

The beans join their friend:
pork butt

Checking on the smoker:

I love the sight
of a smoker smoking!
Smoke baby smoke!

Smoked BBQ Beans:
(from Steve)

4-15 oz. cans of pork and beans
3 slices of cooked bacon, chopped or ½ c pulled pork, chopped
1 cup of bar-b-que sauce
¾ c apple juice or cider
½ c ketchup
1 can apple pie filling, chop chunks
1 sweet or Vedalia onion, finely chopped
¾ c brown sugar
1 tsp. black pepper
2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
4 squirts or so of liquid smoke
A few dashes of ground cayenne powder

Add more cayenne powder for spicier taste, or more brown sugar for sweeter taste, or more bacon and/or pulled pork for meatier beans.

Bake at 325 for 1 hour; or, cook on stove top over medium heat for 30 minutes; or, my personal favorite:  place in smoker for 2-3 hours at 225-250 degrees while finishing smoking meats.

Love being married to a man who cooks (and cooks well!)
He's smokin' hot when he's smoking our dinner!
