Daddy Dates

As fun as it is to be part of a large family, both my husband and I crave one-on-one time with our kids.  To make sure that time happens, we take our kids out on Dad dates and Mom dates.

The kids pick where we go and what we do (within reason), and the only rule we follow is it can't be an errand.  No grocery store shopping dates, or trips to the hardware store.  The dates are pure fun and intended to strengthen our relationships.  Our goal is that we do these forever, but especially during the teenage years, when statistically kids tend to pull away from their parents.  No way kids...you are stuck with us!

My husband took our little girl on their first Daddy/Daughter date a few weeks ago.  They went to play at a park and take a trail walk.  And yes, I stopped by for a quick picture.  It was too sweet of an opportunity to miss.
