Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes

Loving the sugar high this week from having two birthday boys. My oldest son chose ice cream cone cupcakes for his birthday dessert, and even helped make this special treat.  It's a trip down memory lane for me when we make them together because my mom made these for us when we were growing up too.

Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes
(with a scoop of ice cream on top, of course!)

  How we did it:

made our favorite chocolate cake batter

wrapped foil around the bottoms of ice cream cones

put our ice cream cones in the cupcake pan

added 1/4 cup of batter to cones

baked as directed
(note the rebel cupcake on the bottom right-
there is one in every family, isn't there?)

add a scoop of ice cream on top

or frosting

or sprinkles

or all three.

And you get one happy birthday boy!
