Smarties for Smart Choices - a reward jar that could be used as a teacher's tool at school, or for a fun at-home reward. I like to have my students, and my kids, set goals the week school begins. Some goals could be achievement related, such as earning all A's and B's, but I encourage more habit and behavior goals. For example, the goal of studying spelling words for 10 minutes, five nights of the week. Or, the goal of asking new students on the playground to join in a game. I have my kids think up their own goals, and write them in their journal. Be a smartie-pants today, and make this fun jar!
Smarties for Smart Choices
How I did it:
bought a glass jar from Dollar Tree -
but I've seen these at Walmart & Target too
cut a blue circle & glued it to the lid
typed "Smarties for Smart Choices",
printed it in blue, inked it, & taped it on top
added some smarties
tied a ribbon on the jar
If you like the idea of using Smarties, check out this fun Dr. Seuss card I made to give my boys to celebrate the first day of school!
"So be sure when you step.
Step with care and great tact,
and remember that life's a great balancing act."
