Muscle Man Meatballs

It was a rainy weekend, and we spent some extra time cooking in the kitchen. My muscle man made one of his favorite man foods:  meatballs with diced potatoes inside.  Loved the meatballs, loved watching his muscles make the meatballs, and really loved having one less meal to make!

Muscle Man Meatballs

2 pounds ground beef
1 pound ground sausage
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups bread crumbs
1 onion, chopped
2 potatoes, finely diced
1 tablespoon seasoning salt
1/2 cup water

Mix all of the above.

Shape into handball size (muscle man jargon).
Love watching muscle man make meatballs...

Bake in greased pan for 20 minutes at 350 degrees.
Remove from oven and drain the grease.
While meatballs are baking, make the sauce:

Meatball sauce:
1 can tomato sauce
1 can of your favorite bbq sauce
a few drops of liquid smoke
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Pour 1/2 of sauce on meatballs.  Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Pour the remaining sauce on meatballs and bake for another 30 minutes.

"Miracles are like meatballs, because nobody can exactly agree on what they are made of, where they come from, or how often they should appear."
(Lemony Snicket, The Carnivorous Carnival)
