Thank-you firefighters for education and fun!

This week my kids brought fire safety checklists from school for our family to complete.  I'm thankful for the firefighters and all our public safety professionals for their bravery, and for these education programs they share with school kids.  I also appreciate how they take the time to have fun with the kids and let us check out their amazing firetrucks - cool for kids ages 1-101!

Twice this summer my kids have had a blast running under the water blasters (my term, not theirs!).  One of our neighbors asked if a local firetruck could stop by our summer picnic.  The kids had so much fun touring the firetruck, talking to the firefighters, and of course getting wet!  One of our church camps did the same thing.  Running through the sprinkler in our backyard wasn't quite the same after experiencing the giant water hoses from the firetrucks!

Typical group picture for us:

My youngest guy loves to dress up like a firefighter and keep us safe:).  He carries this fun firefighter book around the house.  It's a giant board book in the shape of a firefighter:  it's half toy, half book.  Awesome!

Appreciate our police officers too!

Off to do our safety checklist!

man's humanity to man than a fire engine."
