Peanut Butter Brownies

My family loves these peanut butter brownies, and a pan of these ooey gooey treats doesn't last long around here!  I like making them to eat, and to share!  My kids devour them with a glass of milk:  for me, a cup of strong coffee.

Peanut Butter Brownies
(recipe from my church cookbook)

1 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup butter
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
4 large eggs
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 3/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder

Mix butter, peanut butter, and sugars.  Add eggs.  Add dry ingredients and mix well.  Bake in a 9x13 cake pan for 20-25 minutes at 350 degrees.

(this icing is awesome!)
1 3/4 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup peanut butter
milk or cream (I like half-and-half)

Stir together until smooth and spreads easily.  Frost brownies when they are slightly warm.

"Nothing takes the taste out of peanut butter
quite like unrequited love."
(Charles M. Schulz - Peanuts cartoon)
