Eggnog sparkle cookies

Christmas vacation just started for us, which is awesome, so it's time to relax, play, and bake our favorite holiday goodies!  We just tried a new recipe out of our grocery store flier that is a keeper:  eggnog sparkle cookies.  I'm not a fan of eggnog, but these cookies are great!

Eggnog sparkle cookies

2 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. ground nutmeg
1 c. butter, softened
1 c. sugar
2 egg yolks
1/2 c. eggnog
1/3 c. red & green decorating sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon

Combine flour, baking powder and nutmeg; set aside.
Cream butter and granulated sugar at medium speed of electric mixer. Add egg yolks; beat until fluffy. Blend in eggnog. Add flour mixture, mixing until thoroughly combined.
Refrigerate 2 hrs. or until firm (we skipped this step because we couldn't wait!).  Combine decorating sugar and cinnamon. Roll dough into 3/4 in. balls; roll in colored sugar mixture to coat. Place 2 inches apart on lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake at 400°F for 8 to 10 min. or until set.
Pour some sugar on me...
Couldn't resist a shout-out to Def Leppard:)!

Hi ho, hi ho, it's into the oven we go...

Smells so good...
