Hot Air Balloon Craft: "Oh the Places You'll Go!"

Just had to re-post this from last summer!  I made this as my third grade Valentine holder (thanks Mom!), and now get to make it with my kids.  Oh, the inspiration we get from Dr. Seuss!

Hot air balloon craft:
plastic cup
three flexi-straws
zip dry glue
one balloon

Apply glue at the bottom & middle of straws - where they touch the cup.
Let them dry for 20 minutes and
read Oh the Places You'll Go while you wait.

Apply glue to the bottom of your balloon, where it touches the straws,
and gently press the balloon in place!
Voila...your very own hot air balloon!

These would be fun homemade teacher gifts
and you could add candy and/or a gift card to the inside of the cup.

"Be who you are and say what you feel,
because those who mind don't matter,
and those who matter don't mind."
(Dr. Seuss)

  1. This a very simple, yet cool craft idea. I invite you to come share this post with my readers as we are celebrating Dr. Seuss's birthday on my blog, Happy Birthday Author.

    1. Thanks Eric! I just checked out your blog - what a great format to share author/book information! I'm a former high school English teacher/school counselor and will be visiting your blog for ideas to share with my four kids.
I'll post the craft, and next week I'll share some fun Cat in the Hat hat cookies that are super easy to make. Thanks!
