We are frequent flyers at our local library. Love, love, love the extra time we have in the summer to read. (and love, love, love the peace and quiet that reading brings to our abode). Can I get a moment of silence in appreciation for a few moments of silence?
Our library has these super cool thematic kits: complete with activity suggestions, books, DVD's, and read-along-books with cd's. Hip hip hooray for librarians who assemble these!
Our first kit of the summer: Self Concept
1) Yay, you! Moving out, Moving Up, Moving On by Sandra Boynton
(one of the best books ever, and makes a great graduation gift!)
2) I like Me! by Nancy Carlson
3) Today I Feel Silly & Other Moods That Make My Day by Jamie Lee Curtis
(great book about all the moods we have - my kids love the pics)
Hmmm...I think the book is speaking his language:
4) Now Matter What by Debi Gliori
5) Pouch! by David Ezra Stein
I'm going to try to use one kit each week this summer. After all our cannonballing at the pool, we are ready for some relaxing and reading!

The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.”
